Neuroimages are images of the brain in which the entire body is scanned using radiation. Nowadays, Neuro MRIs are widely used to detect brain diseases such as Alzheimer’s and epilepsy. This article will guide you through the process of locating neuro MRI in New Jersey center.
What is a neuroimage?
A Neuroimage is an image of your brain that has been obtained by a type of X-ray called a CT scan or MRI scan, depending on what technique you have chosen for your treatment or examination. The whole body is usually scanned at the same time when taking this X-ray via CT scans or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Unfortunately, the image is not always easy to understand. In the past, only the brain was a focus during a neuroimage. However, in recent years, there has been a shift in technology that allows us to see important information about other organs such as the heart and lungs.
To make sure that your images are clear and accurate, see if you can find out how many slices of your brain were used. A slice is taken from top to bottom from your head or body. There are different parts on your body where slices will be taken (e.g., for the skull: front/back, left/right). Also make sure you know what part of your body was used for scanning (e.g. for the brain: the head, lower part of the brain or upper part).
In addition to knowing where you should have your head placed for scanning, try to find out how many views of your body will be obtained from the scanning. A view is taken from a certain angle around your body or in between two other slices.
Nowadays, there are new techniques that allow us to store high quality images that are easy to read and understand. However, it is important to know if you will be able to use these images or if they will only be accessible via a software program. Some documents may require Adobe Acrobat Reader DC software for reading, for example. Or some documents may only be available through an online account (e.g., images in PDF format).
One important thing to know is the color of your images. According to a doctor, the best way to see your images is in black and white; however, if you want to know what color they are, a scanning technician can tell you this. For example, if you have Alzheimer’s disease or brain tumors, it may result in having pinkish or dark red colored images. If this occurs, a different type of scan would be used that was very useful for what you wanted (e.g., the other type of scan would show more information about tumors).
